What's new

• The editor gets its own window. Pop the editor out of the main app, just like a terminal pop-out. Put your code on one screen and your swarm on another.
• Two new AI workers: Cursor and Grok. SwarmDesk can now drive the Cursor CLI and Grok Build as workers, next to Claude, Codex, and the rest. Pick them like any other worker.
• OpenCode 2.0 preview support. The new OpenCode 2.0 beta is available as a worker CLI (opencode2), so you can try it before it goes stable.
• Update checks behave now. Updates you already installed no longer re-appear in the list, and a new re-check button lets you refresh the CLI update list on demand.

What's new

• The last of the background data use is gone. 0.1.5 cut the big one, but a once-a-minute housekeeping check was still downloading a full task board each time it ran. It now asks the server a question that comes back nearly empty. With this update, leaving SwarmDesk open all day costs a trickle, not megabytes.
• Agents can't hammer your board anymore. Any agent that asks for the same board more than twice a minute gets told to stop polling and wait — so a confused agent can never again turn into a bandwidth bill.
• You'll know if your cofounder gets stuck. If a single cofounder response runs longer than 15 minutes, SwarmDesk shows a notification so you can step in — no more silent all-nighters on your Claude subscription.

What's new

• Check for Updates, whenever you want. The SwarmDesk menu in the top bar now has Check for Updates… right under About. If there's a new version you get the usual update banner; if you're current, it says so.
• SwarmDesk uses far less data behind the scenes. The app used to re-download your whole task board every 30 seconds just to keep counts fresh. Now it asks the server for only what changed — the board feels the same, but background data use drops by more than 95%. If you're on a metered connection, this one's for you.

What's new

• Workspace profiles. The Workspaces title is now a dropdown — make a profile like Streaming, Work, or Home, tick which workspaces belong, and SwarmDesk shows only those. Perfect for keeping client projects off screen while you stream. Activity in hidden workspaces rolls up to a single number, so nothing sneaks past you and no names leak.
• Every terminal can use the task board. Codex, OpenCode, and Antigravity workers can now read and update your board, not just Claude Code.
• Your cofounder always knows what workers are doing. It sees exact status — working, waiting for your permission, finished — instead of guessing from the terminal.
• Workers can ask questions mid-task. Instead of stalling until you notice, a stuck worker asks the cofounder and keeps moving.
• Steadier on a Claude subscription. The cofounder waits patiently for your answers and can no longer misreport a tool result.
• Terminal fixes. Commands typed into terminals now always register, and a display glitch can no longer blank the app.
• Fixed the projects-folder setting being forgotten between launches.

This is the last version you'll need to install by hand. From here on, SwarmDesk checks for new versions itself and updates with one click — no more downloading a dmg and dragging it over.

What's new

• Make files and folders without leaving the app. The Editor tab now has new-file and new-folder buttons, or right-click anywhere in the file list. Type a name, press Enter, and a new file opens ready to type in.
• Delete files from the Editor tab too. Right-click a file or folder, or select it and press Delete. Items go to the Trash, so you can drag them back out if you change your mind.
• A refresh button for the file list, so files you've changed outside SwarmDesk show up.
• Pi joins the terminal menu alongside Claude, Codex, OpenCode, Antigravity and Kimi.
• Fixed a bug that made the app slow to start and grow a very large chat file over time.

Spoken debriefs — when work finishes, your cofounder reads a short plain-English summary aloud. Every terminal also gets a 🔈 button: press it and you get the spoken version of whatever that agent just concluded. Turn it off any time in Settings → Notifications.

A much faster app — switching tabs and workspaces is now near-instant (views keep their state instead of rebuilding, and the board/git panels no longer wait on the network to paint), and launch parses 61% less code.
